We come to Mississippi several times a year to check on Don's mother who lives in Mendenhall, Mississippi. We miss friends and family in Mississippi but feel that Oklahoma is where we will continue to live after Don retires.
It was such an honor for me to be a part of Clinton High School; I will always treasure the memories of being part of a special student body and faculty. I have been blessed through the years with letters and phone calls from some of my CHS students and I am so appreciative of their thoughtfulness.
I would love to hear from former students and can be reached at the following address: 5803 East 100th Place South, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137-5543 or via email at donjunewhitman@msn.com.
May God bless you and your family in a very special way!

My husband continues working with Atkins-Benham Engineering, a British firm, where he has served as Division President since 1990. We have been blessed with three precious sons: Todd, who is a Special Education Instructor with Tulsa Public Schools and a graduate of Northeastern State University; Scott, who is a Civil Engineer with Beck Construction Comopany, Dallas, Texas, and a graduate of Oklahoma State University; and Britt, who is a Marketing Specialist for Enron of North America, Houston, Texas and a graduate of Oklahoma State University. God has truly blessed us with health and happiness and we thank Him for the joy of each day.
In the summer of 1965, I was offered the position of part time vocal music instructor and part time private voice/piano instructor for Clinton High School under the leadership of Mr. Joe Treloar. Mr. Treloar made it clear that he wanted this program to go to a full time position but that need would have to be justified; justification was not difficult due to the many talented students at CHS. The following year the program was made full time with classes being offered in Music Appreciation, Theory and Composition, Mix Chorus, Girl's Choir, Boy's Choir and two small ensemble groups. (My years spent at CHS: 1966-1968 and 1971-1974.)
My husband, Don, accepted a position with an engineering firm in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1977, at which time I accepted a teaching position with Jenks Public Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Recently I completed 31 years in music education and in May of 2000 officially retired. While in Jenks, I had the opportunity of working with over 17,000 students in addition to the ones whom I taught at CHS and Sturgis Public Schools, Sturgis, Mississippi. A very special student whom I had the pleasure of teaching while at Jenks Public Schools was Rob Weatherly, son of Rebecca and Gary Weatherly.
