Betsy Barnett McCain

She was born in Oxford - Ruth Elizabeth was her name.

A daddy's girl - his "Betsy Bug" she became.

The family moved to Clinton where she got her fame.

Cheerleading in the Class of '66. 'Win this game!"

She tried Ole Miss and Ole Miss tried her brains –

So she went to work on several Delta planes.

Thirty-three years of Germany, Ireland, even Japan

And in Hawaii, her own surfboard she did man.

She then was head flight attendant on a private 737.

Around the world, she used the talents she'd been given.

On her days off, at the Dallas World Trade Mart.

She worked as an Interior Designer, doing her part -

Creating backgrounds for a furniture show room.

Earning an A.S.I.D. title - a well-deserved boon.

She and her husband moved to the Villages from Texas

Still making trips home to visit with us.

And her mother said,

"Betsy was a loving person, giving of her time, talents, resources, and buddy passes. She never met a stranger. In retirement, she returned to the church for Bible study. She brought home a plaque that said,

Live in such a way that those who know you,

but don’t know God, will come to know God

                        because they know you.

I’m so glad she could have her last days at home with us.”
