After graduating from Clinton High School, Marsha entered Mississippi College, from which she graduated in August, 1969. Marsha earned a B.S. in General Business with minors in accounting and library science. Marsha was employed by the Mississippi College Library from June, 1968, until December, 1970.
In August, 1968, Marsha married Robert Holland, who is also a graduate of Mississippi College. In January, 1971, they moved to allow Marsha to attend graduate school in library science. Marsha received a Masters in Library Science in August, 1972, and began work as a College Reference Librarian that same month, working until May, 1978.
A daughter was born to Marsha and Robert in 1980, and she graduated from college in May, 2003, married in July, 2003, and is now teaching 8th grade reading. A son, now 21, is still in college, majoring in business finance and active in his fraternity and in teaching Bible studies.
From 1978 until 1989 when Marsha wasn't officially employed, she volunteered at the local chamber of commerce visitor bureau, and at church she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and worked in the church library.
In 1989, when both children were in school full day, Marsha went back to work part time as a reference librarian on the university level, working until May, 1999.
Marsha and Robert celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 1998 by taking a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands.
